More trees please

repubLogo

In the past year several unhealthy trees were removed from the park to prevent the ‘tree flu’ from spreading to other trees (note.. ‘tree flu’ doesn’t really exist, but the trees were sick or diseased or something). When the big tree in front of #7 tee pad was removed I was overjoyed. I hit the darn thing every other drive and was glad to see it cut down. But after a few rounds I realized the tree was a critical element of the hole. It forced me to focus and work on my drive accuracy.

No joke.. a working Board

The FHDGC board members are hard at work making improvements to the Fountain Hills Disc Golf course. In just the past few weeks the team has resurrected old baskets for alternative locations (not only for variety, but also park safety) and has dug out the grass around the baskets and back-filled with bark (looks good and makes it easier to find alternative basket locations). Alternative basket holes are being capped to eliminate water corrosion and minimize hazards.

Want to get involved? Join the club.. just $10/year and includes a first-year “2014” bag tag.
